Hello All,

I am interested in purchasing a realtively good condition Frellander 2, but have managed to identify a few faults with a mechanic.
Basically when overtaking at speed the engine pulls up slightly (for a split second) then gradually gathers speed again, this is when overtaking on the motorway (Safely).
Have had a family friend / mechanic run diagnostic check on it, and it has listed 7 faults to my concern ...

Are the faults related, and will they cost a small fortune to fix ....

Are the codes current or historic?

P1259
The immobiliser issue is odd, but if the ECM and immobiliser module weren't happy, the engine wouldn't start.
I'd check for damage to the wiring harness under the air filter box.

It wouldn't run if the crank sensor was open circuit, but they can still run when the crank sensor is beginning to fail, often resulting in stalling or misfiring under load. Crank sensor failure is pretty common, often due to water ingress into the plug, or just bad connections at the plug.
The crank sensor is about £25 for a good quality replacement, and about 10 minutes to install.

P0113
The intake air temperature sensor isn't expensive, and takes 5 minutes to replace.

P0134
The O2 sensor is an odd issue, but it appears like it might simply be unplugged.
Has it had a recent EGR valve replacement? as the O2 sensor needs unplugging to do the EGR valve.

P0299
This is fairly common code.
Unfortunately it can be down to few things. It could be a simple split boost hose, which are common. It could be sticking turbo vanes, or boost control servo sticking.
It could also be a split intercooler, but this is less common.

A bit more investigation is needed here.

They were taken about 3 days ago....
I have a feeling its faulty wiring, when the driver was dropping it off, he said he ran over a cattle grid at speed (He hadn't noticed it) said that's when the engine light flashed up but then went off later.
