Yes, it's too old. The TD4 didn't become OBD2 compliant until some time 2004 IIRC.

I think I have (@Nodge68 has) found the possible problem, I can't get any code reader to find the ECM, they all are saying can't connect.
I have checked all the connections on the ECM in the engine bay and they are all clean and I can't see any obvious faults.
Where do the modules all feed into, is it a central point prior to going to the OBD socket?

I have checked the wiring diagram and it seems the pink wires from the ECM go into a Header number 0292? Does anyone have any idea where this is located?
