what are everyone's thoughts on letting a 300tdi idle , even a fast idle
In those circumstances I would not run it at all but keep the battery charged up and/or take it for a good run every week or two .It's mainly due to the fact it does not get used very often , shooting bus , And this cold spell I've been out every couple of days or so to start it up and idle for 30 secs then a fast idle to bring upto temp and make sure the battery is fully charged .
Some say its ok , some say its the end of the world .
Like Flossies guide , Engine cold bad , engine warm no probs .
As has been mentioned you can get chargers to just maintain the battery CLICK LINKY Know nothing about this one, but it's just to give you an idea. I've got a charger with a maintenance mode built in to it. That way you can stop worrying about the Landy and concentrate on getting well. It'll be fine, even if you have to leave it for months. Take care!Thank'you Flossie , i'm doing much better considering {cancer} , I'm starting to get out a bit more , especially as there's always something needs doing with a Landy .
With most saying defenders need to be used often and as i'm not doing much , Is what made me think of starting it up every so often especially as its freezing .
Just had a quick look at a 6w Halfords one. As you say, reviews are good. How sunny is Macclesfield? Its a bit awkward where i am to run power to it , But been looking at solar panel ones on amazon which do the same thing . good reviews .
