hey there, ive just fitted a 200 tdi in to a 2.5 na perkins 90, all done and in, and it runs...
in a fashion :(
as soon as you start it it revs right up, as if the throttle is jammed open, the cable is free and the lever on the injector pump is free too,

ive checked the diaphram and the vac lines that go to the turbo and they look fine...

im stuck

it ran very well, in the disco it came out of 2 years ago, but all i can say is its been sat on a pallet in a damp barn since... which just leads me to think something is jammed or stuck.

i would love some ideas fellas

 thankyou

Hi there I had the exact same thing happen ! Tried to free pump but in the end had to replace inj pump ! I stripped the stuck pump to try to understand why this had happened and found rust inside the pump visible also on some shafts !! It seems that if the pump is stored with the fuel lines removed at the banjo bolt rust will form quickly on bright steel parts that would normaly be submerged in diesel ! I now store my spare inj pumps with lines full of oil , this seems to keep the pump internals nice and shiny ..

ahh this does seem about right, it was stored in the damp with no fuel lines, mabe ill have to replace that, thanks for your advice :)

Google bosch ve pump, plenty of info out there, you may be able to pop the top off for a looks, and if you **** it who cares as you were going to get another one anyway?
