And the other problem is that owners take little notice of advice about having decent battery voltage, all panels closed etc,etc - when trying to input an EKA code.Even garages dont listen,I've done loads where the garages dont listen,so I just go and take money off them because they cant be bothered or dont understand.Sometimes if its a later car its just quicker to input the EKA with Testbook, but I've never been beaten by one yet - there is always a reason why it wont work.(Unless all the smoke has escaped from the BECM.)
Used to be a favourite for the valeters to steam the carpets - that makes a real mess of them.

My old Transit (ex RAC) was steamed before I bought, I'm still sorting the problems it caused:mad:

A dealer can clear the RF memory buffer easy enough and reteach the engine immobilser code, he can also read and clear the fault log. What they can't do is unlock an armed BECM, only replace it with a new one. There are several people who have the equipment to unlock them.
In your case, the BECM is not armed or in lockout status otherwise it would be immobilised..full stop.
Your keyfob is unlocking the doors remotely, so the correct code is being sent, and received by the BECM.
Try and sort out someone local who has Rovacom or Autologic etc. and they will do the work at a fraction of main stealer prices.
