Behind the right hand panel in the boot, you will have to take off the parcel shelf support first, if my memory serves. If you can wait until tomorrow I will have a look at the one I had trouble with , it will be easy because I haven't put it back together yet.

Will have a look-but I think this time there's a problem with the BeCM. I think I'll have to ask the local Land Rover specialist to have a look.

I thought I might replace it with an original Range Rover for electrical simplicity-but the prices are astronomical. Was looking years ago at L322's-but again stuffed full of electronics.
My daily driver is a 1983 Senator 3.0E-the injection is the only electronic part.

The ****er is I was due to go on holiday next week towing the tin tent. Been away for two separate weeks already this month and the Range Rover has been great as it has for the last 11 years-was hoping to keep it for a further 11!

Find someone with a Nanocom and get them to disable EKA and immobiliser.

Have you tried stripping the button? Take the panel off the bottom tailgate (3 plastic turn screws that only need rotating through 90 degrees) then two Phillips screws and the connector and you will have the button in your hand. If you look at the back there is a locating peg on a flexible arm. Gently bend the arm until the peg is unlocated and you will be able to turn the back. The innards of the button can be pushed out . Mine was rusted and the spring fell apart .

Looks like we have two different problems on the same thread. The tailgate button won't help your immobilized problem, I came in when the bottom tailgate was temperamental.

That's what I'll try and do-I'll contact the local Land Rover specialist and see if they can come out. Problem is it's under a carport with a 90 degree turn immediately after the entrance-will never get it out if it won't start.

It's definitely something to do with the BeCM-the tailgate opening at fixed time periods.

Is there a BeCM repair service-I seem to remember Rick the Pick did something.

Tell me if I'm correct.

You had a flat battery, you used the EKA code successfully, once only, & after turning off, you cannot get access again. All doors unlock when key is turned in the door?

This is either a failed door lock, or a becm problem.
I've come across this many times in the past. The sure sign is this, no communications with the becm with any diagnostics.

We can sort this out.
