ENGINE CUTS OUT

Hi all and thank you for reading.

I have a 1995 300TDi Discovery. For no apparent reason occasionally the engine has started to cut out both while driving or stationary. I have found when this happens it will not start again until I lock the doors with the key fob and immediately unlock them again while I am still sat in the car. It then starts again!

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this? Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Be seeing you

Michael

Thank you "Trench Rat", I was wondering if that might be the problem. If it is, do you know of a fix, even if it is to bypass the immobiliser?

I’m afraid I know **** all about discos. I’m a series guy. However there’s lots of disco guys on here. Maybe @dieseldog69 might know.

Why go to all that hassle in stripping the dash to find the ‘spider’ that’s if your vehicle has one.
All you need is to install a single wire overlay for one or both the circuits that are isolated when immobilised, that would be the starter and for your vehicle fuel cutoff
If you have an auto don’t bother looking for a ‘spider’ you won’t find it as u don’t have one.
