Please Help...(I am a novice by the way :))

i have a discovery td5 2001 plate i turn the key to the second stage and wait till the pump primes then starts no problem the engine runs fine for 5 mins the starts to struggle (same when driving) then it chugs and cuts out
during this the in tank pump sounds like it constantly priming (weering sound)
even when engine running.
after the engine cuts out i have to prime the system for a good 4 or 5 times for it to start again (even then sometimes a stuggle)
i have fitted a different in tank pump (working ok from brackers in colne) and a new filter and water sensor too and cleaned out the air filter in the fuel filter housing ????( ive been reading the threads on here :)) but im stuck
please please can someone help me
thanks

Injector washers and o rings by the sound of it- copper washers leak combustion gases into fuel and cause gurgling and priming problems

While the rocker cover is off relace injection loom as they seep oil into ecu

No expert on TD5 but pump and fuel system must reach an operating pressure to sustain good supply to the pump for it to keep up with demand.
There maybe a faulty pressure switch in the system allowing fuel back to the return line without sufficient pressure being sustained.
No doubt a better TD5 answer will follow from another member, but also look for any leaks, will be obvious, but reckon you would of noticed! Hope you get another answer :)

Or look at rattys fuel pump thread as it has photos etc
