Have destroyed my engine in my series 1, going to put my spare engine in which is another daihatsu 2.8td but i want to retain the altenator so i can servo-assist my brakes.

Does anyone know how to wire up the external regulator on these Jap engines. Or can recommend a good site to find this info.

Cheers

yes, and the vacuum pump is part of the altenator.
strange things these jap injuns.

The Alternator is a standard unit. Go to yo local Auto factors. As for brakes - get a Series3 vacuum assisted brake servo.

Why should the wiring be any different to the set up you are taking out?

the loom has 2 relays and a control wire that seems to go no were.

I have found a wiring diagram and it now seems to be working well.
