I've searched but can't find anything, so here goes.
Does a Discovery 200 & 300 share the same engine block?

300 is based on 200 but is different , though they both share exactly the same bore and crank journal size as early 2.25 petrols etc

ive got a spare block without crank here which is mr top cats might be worth talking to him ,would need a rebore £120 ish

I was thinking of full rebuild anyway, crank regrind, bores & pistons. May have to give him a shout.

I'v pm'ed him.
I've had problems with oil pressure for some time now. I've rebuilt all the bottom end, new shells, oil pump & oil sqiurts. When I had the shells out I found the crank had a small step on the journals so it sounds like they have on oval, other than that could be the cam shaft shells.
So I'm thinking start on a rebuild in the shed ready & waiting for when it goes bang.

In need of a little project mate:D will put the word out but haven't come across many 200Tdi lately, mine will be for sale next year sometime when I rebuild the v8
