I'll stick my neck out, cos I don't know but they might be the attachment holes for mounting a special LR tool, i.e a fing what makes it easier to remove i.e. support the box when removing it.

Others who know better will now tell me I'm off the target., maybe!

When I replaced my clutch quite a few years ago, Iā€™m sure I made a frame up that bolted t those holes to help remove the gear box.

Like said, they are used to bolt the support bracket for gearbox removal. There is mention of this in RAVE but you'll need to fabricate it yourself as apparently it's not something you can just buy. As for the specs, they are protected by the JLR Secrets Act and won't be disclosed anytime soon :)
