Well I never thought I'd be posting on a Hippo thread, but my best pal has a hippo. He's locked his keys in the car and his spare one where the spine key comes out isn't the right one for his car. He's had a locksmith out and he's failed to pick the lock. He's gonna return with better picks on Monday, but short of smashing the window, what else can he do?

The Freelander is designed to be impossible to enter without the keys, or breaking a window.

It's actually pretty much impossible to lock yourself out of the Freelander too, so I've no idea how that has happened.

He was cleaning it out and left em in the boot. Like I say, the spare is a duffer the garage he bought it off chucked in to make it look cosher

I don't see how that works, as the boot only locks with the key or remote. It's impossible to lock the boot without pressing the button on the remote, and you can't press the remote, if it's in the boot.

Unless you open the boot, press the button, throw the keys in the boot and then close the boot.

Cheers

Maybe. But who would do that.
I simply can't see how this can happen accidentally, in normal circumstances.

if its a fl2 you can press boot release on fob and then when you shut the boot it re locks itself,
he probably put keys down in boot and then forgot to pick keys back up and then shut the boot.
hey s**t happens.

RAC did unlock mine by using a plastic wedge to pry the driver door ajar to allow a pull rod to pull the internet door handle. I now do demonstrations to would be carjackers. Next I will do speed driving and avoiding police later.:D
