Hi lads,

Im actually not exaggerating. was looking under the bonnet and saw some diesel leaking off the injector closest to the radiator and while changing the leak off pipe the nipple on top the injector snapped off. am i in serious trouble or what???

my rave isint working as i backed up my laptop and think i moved the source folder. so have to download it again. do i have to replace the injector? and if so what kind of socket is it? i have a spare engine in the garden can i just swap the injectors over??

here is a pic of the injector

Don't know anything about these engines, but if it was a banjo bolt, won't it just unscrew with yer finger? Yer engine will probably run like a bag o' spanners and chuck fuel out all over the place:eek:;):D:D

Dunno if usin' a bolt of the same thread and maybe some ptfe tape would do as a "get me home" fix.. just a thought mate;):D

would you believe PTFE tape also sprung to my mind too! though maybe a BMW is too posh and needs some gold leaf PTFE tape only available from the main stealer!! lol

Aye summit like that!;) Well he's already got me soul for the Defender and a bridging loan fur me bike... might as well have the bottom of me boot as well!:(:p;):D:D

27 mm long socket will do your job, change my one last week, it will be really tight, start her up and let her warm the engine first, should come out no probs.
the injector will have a copper washer at the bottom just make sure its clean before putting back in>

JOY!!! all sorted, drove up to Halfords 1st thing this morning and got the 27mm extension socket and the anti sieze grease. changed it in about 5 mins here is a pic of the old culprit.
