Hi Guys

The Fuel Flap release button on my P38 is stuck down, so i cant push it down to release the flap. Is there an over ride button or easy emergency open procedure?

Thanks

In the boot, there is a small rectangular plastic cover on the fuel side, remove this and you may find a string velcro'd to it, if not the string should be laying in there somewhere, pull to release flap. It's in the owners manual.

I had a look in the manual and couldn't see anything! Must look harder

You can repair the fuel release button, I had the same problem as you. You will find the bottom of the switch has 'fallen' out!!! Just push it back in and super glue. I did this then ran PU (polyurathane) sealent around the join. Been ok since.

Worthwhile checking the string before you need it. I tried mine and it just came away from the release mechanism. Luckily I was just being nosy and could repair it at leisure.

its prob a faulty switch , happened to mine after that i always carried a spare switch as i didnt have the later pull cord to open it

I will try this at the weekend, is it easy enough to get to?

I just jammed a bit of foam under it 3 years ago and it hasn't done it again ! Worth trying.
