So. You have a L/D landy. That looks like an earthing clip but its impossible to say what the wires are for.

As Blue beasty said Fits to the choke cable and should be wired in series with the Otter switch so that it puts light on when engine warm to remind you to push the choke back in.

That's interesting. I have a petrol conversion from diesel. My choke is connected straight to the carb. I don't have that switch. Hence no light comes on .
