I have had my Series 111 for a few months now and have carried out a number of jobs and it rus very well.
I am now going to start on the dash clocks.
I have the following problems and my qustion is it a single problem or individual problems. But first the things which are working.
All warning lights.
Indicator lights
Dash Light.

What is not working
Speedo.
Temp Gauge.
Petrol Gauge.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks In Advance.

Hello

The speedo does not work with electrics, just check out the cable and/or connections.
The gauges have one common thing. The Voltage stabilizer. Check this out, or better, buy a new one. There cheap.

Finally got around to fitting the Voltage regulator but the Petrol Gauge still not working.
I did,nt take it for a run to check the temp gauge.

I fitted a new one from Bearmach and one of the connectors felt loose.

Do you think I got a duff one and any tests I could do to see if the VR is ok.
On the back of the VR is 4 connections I only have 2 wires and looking at Haynes wiring diagram this looks right.
Thanks Tony

The voltage regulator should keep the voltage going to your gauges stable.
When you rev your engine the voltage will rise by a couple of volts. this would make your gauges read higher.
If you only have two connections then I would think that 1 is the voltage in the other the voltage out and the case the negative connection.
Try measuring with neg lead of meter to chassis. pos lead to each of the two connections in turn. 1 should rise with engine revs and the other should remain roughly constant.

If you want to check if the fuel-sender is working, get the sender out. Then measure with an Ohm-meter between the positive and the earth. It should go up/down when you move the arm up/down.
Are you sure the two wires to the fuel-sender are not switched? The other wire is for the tank-emty light.
