Here is the blue block in question, there is one further along behind the dashboard area. The plastic tray etc removed to get access to it. Can you confirm it is indeed just a block of earths also?

Well that one is duff being as it has melted and burnt in the corner!.
Assuming that is the same terminal block location as in the picture below then it is actually 4 different blocks in one so don't join all the wires together or you will get a big surprise when you turn it on! Best bet would be to replace it with a new one (assuming they are available). Cleaned up wires in a new block should be good for another 20 years

Well who'd have funk it! I thought it was just one big block passing across others. Pffft.

The burnt end I would suspect being my heater problem and a line from that somehow.

The link to paul was great, was TD5 related mines 300tdi but I get the jist enough to see its not as straight forward as I'd hoped!

Does anyone have a wiring diagram to show me what wire goes to what? I'll find Paul and bang him a PM for the block anyways but its not great working blind :p
