Due to my total inability to fix anything mechanical on my Landy. I have decided to limit future projects to things which do no affect its ability to move or stop :D

First on the list is the radio. I am totally sick of it turning itself off with the ignition and having no memory when its turned on again. I actually put a new one in a couple of years ago but the old one only had a live from the ignition and I didn't want to mess. The CB is the opposite, it has a permanent live and doesn't go off with the ignition.

So my question, can I split the live feed to the CB and have it work the memory for the radio as well. The alternative would be to find power from elsewhere and that might be the start of another disaster.

When this project is completed, probably in a week or two, I want to look at fitting the split charger I bought to put a second battery on for the winch and stuff.

In the center cover above the rear wiper switch you should be able to find a permanent live, there will be one on the ignition switch as well.

Yep, therell be two live feed wires on the radio. The main one which is wired to your ignition and another, usually yellow which is a constant feed for memory.

It takes very little power and will be fine to take straight from the CB +ve without worrying about over loading.

I wouldn't use the wire going to the CB, only because it is always better to have the CB wired completely separate from anything else, this leaves less chance of interference through the CB!

Thanks everyone :D

I will try using the CB one and worry about it later if it causes interference. I have no idea what all the other wires are, its probably safer to stick to the two I do know.

In future I'm avoiding anything I don't understand or haven't done before. Saves having to be rescued when I do it wrong and I dont want to set the Landy on fire.
