cant find a spec sheet for that genny, tho by the looks of that red socket and the triple pole breaker, its 3 phase.

thats the smallest 3 phase genny i've seen!

no, it wont suit your application, without modification to the vac.
Is it possible that the genny is 240V 3ph, which would deliver 110V to each single phase socket, and 240V across phases?

That type are quite common in the marine industry ;);)

In the instructions (which are as useful as a chocolate fire grate) under specifications it says
ac frequency 50hz
ac output voltage 220/380 volts
rated output in kva 6
maximum output kva 6.5

So I recon the big red socket is putting out the 380v bit probably at maximum kva. Can I use this sockrt in anyway?I could try my multimeter on it. 3two pin plug (european style) and one big red plug have come with it.

Red plug
3 phase is 400v nominal
3x 230V with or without neutral.

If you don't know what your doing then get someone who does.

Now I've seen the video it looks like the genny is three phase, It's poor practice to parallel up any current source but with three phase it can be disasterous so DON'T DO IT!
Mind you. 12 amps down that vac cable?

a 3 phase board and 3 single phase rcbo if suitably weather protected

230v will nip 400v is world of **** and earthing needs thinking about IT or TT

As I will be up on a metal roof it could be really exciting if I make the whole roof panel live!

One of the lads once screwed through the roof just catching a live 240v cable. This made your hands kind of tingle when you then grabbed the roof sheet. 400v might make your balls explode!

I shall stick to using only one of the 240v sockets and only run two of the motors which normally shifts most of the dead leaves (pigeons) etc anyway.

Cheers All

Are we thinking 1000x3 is marketing hype?
Ok it has 4 little pins and one fat pin in the red plug.

ste the 1000x3 might be marketing hype indeed. I know with all 3 motors going though you wouldn't want your plums near the hose end. its got some pull on it!

Gennie ran my compressor ok todayfor a while then clouds of white smoke came out of it. So switched it off. D, oh!

ran ok again 30 mins later but a little smokey. Hooking it up to the vac tomorrow.

the three motors on the vac could be individually wired to sepperate plugs or the vac could be configured to run from the one 3ph socket
