Just a thought, what about a good dose of WD40 to get rid of any water still in there, then if you want, a spray of brake cleaner to get rid of that and generally clean it up, and then a good spray with the WD grease to lube it all?

Haven't picked up on this thread for a while but am inestimably grateful for all posts on this topic and will take all into account once I get to the point, like many others, where I can go out shopping without fear of catching this dreadful infection!
Thanks again all, and signing off now as I need to replenish the brandy balloon as it is Sunday!
Glad to know that "drinking more than usual" is seen as normal lockdown behaviour!
