hi everyone. i've got a couple of of problems with my '88 rrc 200tdi. First problem is with starting the car, i turn the key, leave the glow plug light to go out and try firing it up. All i get are signs that i've got a flat battery(lazy starter motor then then clicking relays) then if i leave it for a few seconds and try starting again its as if i've just put a new battery on. but its a very intermittant problem. Second problem is with my fuse box. It seems to like melting fuses. Could the two problems be linked or just a bad coincindence? I'm thinking along the lines of bad earth issues or dodgy alternator. Could any of you guys point out any common earth points/problems. Any advice or comments would be really really appriciated.

Bad connections in the fuse box will cause heating that could in extreme circumstances melt the plastic. The fuse box/relays could perhaps also cause starting problems, I don't know the classic but the fuse box causes all sorts of problems on the P38.
