Hi guys - a help question -

My electrical 12V direct brown/white wire to the ignition barrel is not registering any voltage? My understanding is this should be a direct feed and always show voltage and it's unfused?

I've bypassed direct to the battery and car starts and runs so it's definitely the wire

Anybody any help?

It would really help if you were to say what model and what year of car you have ?

Hey bud - apologies - aha was just in the middle of removing a front wing at the same time!

It's a defender 110 2001. Was working fine previously, and when bypassing still works fine. So can't find where the break in the live wire is or would be.

Not sure if there's any common spots. Or there's something wired in that I've never heard about

Youv'e diagnosed the problem and sorted it...just splice in a new wire or will it not start on the key?...

Hi bud, yeah it starts, but I prefer to get to the root to be honest, and can either fix the original wire or fully replace it. Albeit ten years down the line I crack her open again and wonder why I've got a DIY second wire heading to the ignition barrel and original hanging loose and limp!

I assume you have checked output from fuse link 5 to confirm the fault is not the internals of the fuse board ,you say you do not have 12v at C28-1 ignition do you have 12v at C151-2 on the starter relay.( early models only and C58-15 feeding fuse 8 passengers fuse box to C495-16 on the diagnostic socket and final do you have 12v at C14-1 dim/dip resistor) info please
