2004 Defender td5 110
When I parked the car up (last week) all had been working perfectly (well for a Defender that is).
Went to start it two days ago.
Turned on the ignition and none of the usual dash lights came on, the dash looked dead.
Could hear the fuel pump running and she started ok.

Pressed the switch for the heated screen, the light on the switch did not come on, so assumed the relay was not latching in.
Same for the heated rear window.
Tried to lower the electric windows, they do not work.

I've checked all fuses.
Has anyone else come across this?
 
Well that's the odd thing. The new roof, the new windscreen seal, the windshield to bulkhead seal, all have stopped water ingress.
Yet, the clocks appear to have some condensation on the inside of the dials. No other sign of water ingress at all.

Check the airfilter and the cabin filter for dampness
 
Fuse No 15 (3rd from left top row).
The legend on the fuse cover shows a handbook?
I had tried all the usual ones, for windows, screens etc all ok. This was a 5amp fuse and seemed to kill quite a few things.

Fuse 15 !
Headlamp relay, dim dip relay, NC compressor clutch relay, cooling fan relay, heated rear screen switch, instrument pack, ignition relay, heated front screen timer unit, blower motor relay, air conditioning unit (if you have one)

You will still get condensation, it's difficult to stop.
Last winter I had lots with ice forming on the inside of the roof.
Insulated the complete roof, side panels and doors. Took the damp floor insulation out, fitted new screen seal and seems pretty leak free now.
Got in it yesterday and have condensation along the top of the screen and dripping off the mirror!
No where as bad but disappointing anyway.

I think it once rained inside an old 90 that I had ;-)

Yes it did thank you. You are right in that it seems most unlikely that a 5 amp fuse would knock out all that heavyweight stuff like heated seat screen and electric windows as well as the instrument panel. Lesson learnt!
