Help please..... I've had either head or injector issues recently with my One Ten 200Tdi (disco motor) and starting has been difficult.

This morning I was cranking it as it wouldn't start. A big click from the fuse area and total death to all dash lights. Am I right in thinking there's a relay/solenoid there that may have died a death?

Cheers

I don't think a relay controls the dash lights, so I would guess it's a fuse. They can go off with a pop too. I presume you've checked the fuses though.

I've just been out and now the dash lights work, turn the key and "click" and then they go off again.

I have the same problem now and again. Could be the ignition barrel or wiring, try wiggling the key about in when its in the barrel usually works for me. Must get to the bottom of it though and get it sorted.

Jump it if it starts battery u/s, or charging fault if not as tottot says cable issue

Tottot a big thumbs up it was a bad connection. The negative/earth from the battery had vibrated loose and basically fallen off.

So I'm cooking on gas (well DERV) now. Cheers

It's not sorted my difficult starting with lots of white smoke lol. It'll either be the head gasket or injectors I think

For the first minute or so it feels like it's on 3 till the turbo kicks in. After its warms up its fine.

Sounds like one or two pot's not wanting to play, maybe valve problem but more likely head gasket starting to go. Compression test will tell.

I've changed the injectors for (apparently) good ones and its still acting up so a compression test is the next port of call.

Cheers for the advice.
