Hi, can anyone help with my eka code problem ?
This is on my 2000 my 30th anniversary p38.
I am currently locked out, the car does not respond to the eka code, have phoned the dealer that supplied it new they have confirmed I have the correct code and I have dialled in the code very carefully returning the key to the 12 o'clock position each time I'm getting no bleeps or displays on the dashboard when I'm dialling it in , if I disconnect and reconnect the battery it comes up as keycode lock out on the screen, but not while I'm dialling it In.I have done this many times before on my old p38 and have never had a problem.
Any help gratefully appreciated .

You will get nothing on the dash. But should get either flashers or side lamps depending on how BECM is set when doing the initial four turns to the left.

Give Mozz a shout PM him

im not getting any flashes or beeps on the first four turns , yes i can open the drivers door and the alarm goes of , i had to leave her this morning had to go to work , and on reflection it maybe a battery fault as if i switch on the ignition it says sunroof not set windows not set etc which would indicate a power interuption , so maybe the battery is goofed caused by a dead short in the altenator etc, i will investigate it and post the result

Smoothly done that, how you slipped in the 4 turns to the left and all.

Couple of pointers. Eka process is different between older P38As and newer ones. I think the change occurred at 96MY, so if your old car was a 95MY then don’t use same process.
If the side light warning light on the Ipack does not come on & go off during the EKA key turning then the becm does not think that you are trying to enter the EKA code.
If you unlock the drivers door with the key and the alarm goes off, that is bad, because the becm should see the signal from the key switch and the cill button sw in the door latch. When the becm sees these 2 sw signals it should turn off the klaxon.
What does the red LED do when you put the key in the ignition and turn it to ignition on position, does it flash continuously?.

i want aware of the later side light warning on the ipack during eka input , i
was expecting the indicators to flash etc to confirm input , i havent looked
if this is happening during input as i was focused on the input proceedure
, and yes if i unlock with the key the alarm goes of when i open the door or if i try to start it it says engine disabled etc

anyway an update the car doesnt seem to want to accept the eka , the battery is fine so i will now try to look at the becm settings with my faultmate extreme and see if someone has turned the eka of etc also i am considering stripping down the door switch to see if the micro switches are working

WTF is that green circle below

When you say the car does not want to accept the EKA code then I’m assume that the sidelamp warning lamp is not flashing when you are entering the eka code. That means that either the process that you are using is not correct or the becm does not realize that you are entering the eka code or the becm is having one of it’s funny turns.. As the alarm goes off when you unlock the door, then it sounds like a CDL button sw or key switch fault (both in the latch). Before stripping down the latch you can check if these switches are working by checking the signals from these switches at the door outstation. Key switch signal switches to ground when key is turned to lock or unlock. CDL sw goes to ground when cill button is up. Check the Rave disk for wire colours. Measure voltage with connectors still plugged in to the outstation. The other area that I would check would be the 2 connectors in the A post that connect the door harness to the body harness. Remove the grommet (between the door and A post) from the A post and pull out the 2 connectors and clean them up to remove green crud from them.

I would disconnect battery for a while, sometimes does magic, not saying it will cure your problem but have helped me many times not only with cars, pc's and other electronics. Called the IT solution:)

Unlock drivers door with key then disconnect battery and fully charge it. Reconnect battery and drivers door hopefully will autolock. Don't worry if it doesn't.
Wait at least 30 minutes after reconnecting battery before attempting any procedure.
Ok hopefully drivers door is locked. If not you will have to lock it with key first.
Turn the key to lock position (anticlockwise ) and back to centre. 4 times to alert becm that your about to put code in. Then input code first number of turns is ( clockwise) unlock position and back to centre. Then next code number will be the number of turns (anticlockwise) locking position the 3rd will be (clockwise) the 4th (anticlockwise)
After you have input the 4th code number you need to turn the key once (clockwise) to unlock. Don't open door remove key
Hopefully during the sequence you had lights or indicator flashes. If you did great. Put key in lock in 12 o clock position and synch key. To do this whilst key at 12 o clock position hold lock button in and turn to lock position and back to centre then release button. Next hold unlock button turn to unlock position and back to centre release button.
If this has worked open door and no alarm should happen. Next synch key to ignition

Ok guys thanks for the advise , I am going to be working on her this morning so hopefully will have a result

managed to connect my faultmate up but the being as the becm is in an armed state it wont let me see the proper settings etc is shows a load of settings not relevant such as mileage 999990 ,build date 12/3/1918,lhd,manual,diesel,no sunroof, market not set,etc which all are a load of crap but maybe displayed as an example due to being armed , i could of seleceted to switch of the immobiliser and write it to the settings but thought may be a risk with the other misinformation displayed

i think i still need to enter the eka, gonna test the door switch next

If you cannot enter the EKA with the faultmate, I very much doubt you will enter it via the door lock. The BECM has gone to lock out. time for rick the pick methinks

RESULT
unplugged the door harness to the a post a little electrical contact spray and some wd40 to the door switch pack and she has now accepted the eka also the indicators flashed on input
I then went in with faultmate and had a look at the becm settings and all is fine
;)
