If your not sure or confident about removing the egr you can always leave it in place and just put the blanking plate at the intercooler hose end of the egr. That way everything is left in place looking standard but still has the desired effect.


Does it make any difference which end you put it at?
 
From my own experience of doing this take out the whole ERG and put a blanking plate on the manifold and new hose from intercooler to inlet manifold.You can get a complete kit on Ebay-plate ,new gasket and hose.
Worked for me and looks good too.:D
 
Thanks Pauli that just about the whole issue of egr removal on a 300tdi - get rid of the bloody thing and if at some point the beaurocrats decide OMG there are people removing them SOMETHING MUST BE DONE, it'll be to late cos we can all argue that someone else did it yer onour

Not to mention all the disco's running around without cats in the exhaust :eek::eek:
