Cleaning tha inlet manifold and ports is not a pleasent job. I would be surprised if many garages would take it off, let it soak in degreasent, then clear out all the goock. It’s really some of the nastiest sticky black stuff there is. Not a hard job, but I can’t imagine that many, unless being paid dearly, would spend the same amount of time and effort as the vehicle owner would in making it all clear again.
Certainly worth asking what they did clean, and if there is no mention of removing the inlet manifold, and clearing out all the ports, and the sensor that lives in the manifold, it’s job worth doing yourself properly. There can quite easily be 8mm or so thick crud coated all over the inside of the manifold and engine ports.
Quite satisfying to put it all back together all cleared out.
