When I remove the EGR valve, what do I do with the two wire plug on the top, will it flag up any fault messages or cause any any other issues or do I tie wrap it away in a corner and forget about it?

Cheers
Rob

just tie it back behind the washer bottle and forget about it.

Stops the dirty oily exhaust gases clogging up the intercooler
Stops warm exhaust gases getting 'inhaled' by the engine, rather than cooler, higher O2 percentage fresh air.
Annoys the treehuggers.

What more could you want?

I put the blanking plate on and bolted the egr back up to it, at least then if mr mot tester looks to see if its there, it is, although not actually doing anything....

Stops the dirty oily exhaust gases clogging up the intercooler - On the face of it no it doesn't, as the feed from the EGR valve joins the intake tube AFTER the intercooler, not before.

MOT man doesn't care if its connected or not as long as smoke readings are good thats all that counts. :D

does it give better performance
Only on part throttle as EGR is only used then, you may not notice it though. When i blanked mine the first thing i noticed was it almost completely stopped the shunting on low speed low load gear changes.
You may notice engine gets slightly noisier. May even find your fuel consumption gets slighly better.

......and according to EU regulations they have to read the NO3 concentration which is not affected by EGR................EGR >> imagine a man who's inhaleing his farths:eek:
