Just done the EGR valve on my wifes 2006 TD4 auto. Apart from being bloody cold out there today, the inlet was well clogged and sooted, despite the car only having done just over 20.000 miles. After a good clean, all was put together and running well.

You should notice quite a difference then.

This kinda supports my pet theory that low mileage (short journey) vehicles are worse effected by the crap from the EGR mixing with the oil in / from the turbo hoses.

Singvogel.

blanked mine off a few days ago cant believe the difference, i am now going to order the bypass kit & clean the manifold and hope for better results
Did you have to delete the egr from engine management? Mine is a 53 plate and worried it might bring on light

not on a FL1. It will on a FL2 as that's designed to meet a more stringent emissions requirement.
The FL1 TD4 is an older design, so EGR function isn't monitored.
Ok thats great i jave disconnected

Any ideas on the trailer light? I have connected the electrics from van to car and all lights are working but i have no trailer light on the dash

Ok thanks has it got to be lucas or is there a compatible one

Just do a Google search for YWT10002L. You'll find several suppliers selling them. ;)
I believe they're made my Hella but I've only found unbranded and Lucas in searching.

Hiya can you give me any advice on car sounding like vacuum when under load ie climing hills or around 40 to 50. I have changed the pipes on the front right by the egr bypass. I have got the hose which goes at back of engine by the turbo but not sure how easy this is to change its the one which tapers in. Any advice would be appreciated
