Hi all , I have done EGR blank on my 300tdi....I have put a screw in the vacuum pipe but wondered if I needed to unplug this or does need to stay plugged in ?

is it part of EGR system ? the vacuum pipe lead from this to the EGR valve

I think that this is for the cruise control. Could be wrong especially if you dont have cruise control!

That is the vacuum solenoid and performs various functions, not just for the EGR valve so do not disconnect it.

not cruise control, they hide that under the jack.

I would be interested to know what other function the pictured item has as i would like to remove it if possible.

Not sure if its the same on the 300tdi but i disconnected mine on my TD5 as recommended by TD5 Alive as this can give a fault to your ECU that the egr is not doing its job.

Hi, I am wanting to remove this unit if possible also.

300tdi disco, no cruise control, EGR blanked and vacuum pipe for that sealed already.

Wanting to install a 2nd battery in this space. Plus a safari snorkel at the same time.
Thanks!
