Yet first post suggests creating a cover to hide the egr, therefore allowing you to tamper with the egr. Any tampering which stops it working is against the law. That has now been added to the mot because they dun't want you to do it. You know this because that's why yer trying to hide it

There is no need to blank or disconnect an egr. Peeps have been foolishly (in my opinion) stopping them from working for many years when all they need is cleaned out occasionally.

Bearing int mind the legal changes and the new mot rules... It would be daft to start a new fed on ere of how to get round egr blanking. There are far too many already, over many years.

To suggest mot testers can't take covers oft is wrong. They can take covers oft. They have always been able to take a cover oft but most chose not to. If a cover is fitted above or below the engine it became a typical comment on the not test result that a cover was fitted. Hence reducing their view. Mot testers raised this fact to cover their backs. The mot rules have now changed to inform mot testers they can take covers oft.

Ah been reading yer posts fer many years. Don't be too harsh on yerself. Ah managed ok and it dint take long.

The Mrs just got her car MOT'd and we know the tester well, he advised to refit the EGR valve but he wouldn't look too closely, it just had to pass the emissions test - which it has for the last 5 years. Extra thick spacer on the way.

I found some people delete EGR by themselves via some tools,cal EGR removal
