Hi please bear with me if this sounds a stupid question.
I've got a 2003 freelander td4 and just recently had the EGR VALVE REMOVAL kit fit by a garage along with some vortex filter. following day I've got a wet floor passenger side which I know is probably the heater matrix. Could having the EGR done affect or cause the matrix to fail ??

I'm not mechanically minded but seems too much a coincidence as I only cleaned the car before it went in and carpet was bone dry.

EGR & Cooling linked ??
yes .. in that there's a cooler on the egr exhaust feed
i.e. in that it uses the engine coolant to do the cooling of the exhaust gas

Where exactly on the EGR exhaust feed pipe is the cooling device as cant seem to locate

am not 100% sure they all have them
my Haynes manual describes how to remove it
other sources say just auto transmission / hot climate models have them

if it has one .. then it will be connected to the egr exhaust feed
between the exhaust manifold and the erg valve

do an 'image google' for td4 egr cooler
will give an idea what to look for

i was looking at mine ( 2006 td4 manual ) and if it has one ..
it be hidden under other bits or behind the engine
( sort of hard to see what's beyond the egr exhaust feed pipe ..
( a small mirror and torch would help
