So we seem to be a bit sluggish,(which I thought was normal as this is my first Landy) I've been told that sensors need cleaning MAP sensors ? And other sensors( which apparently is a 10-15min job?. and I have been told to chip- Remap -to improve fuel economy, responsiveness, etc etc. and I need to add EGR block plate???, which I have purchased already.
Is anyone in the southwest of England - Wiltshire/Somerset that can point me in the right direction for a remap , ? Any reputable company you would recommend?
Thanks in advance

I would be cautious about blaming the electronics before eliminating everything else. My 2004 Disco 2 Td5 (Daisy) has 355,000+ km on the clock and while she has had her mechanical moments, none of the sensors, electronics or ECUs have given me any trouble whatsoever and I have owned her since 2007. She is unmodified too. While she is no cafe racer, she has no difficulty keeping up with traffic, the turbo boost tends to arrive in one big lump of grunt once the revs are high enough and is still able to achieve the maximum speed and economy figures quoted in the book.

I now live in Australia but used to live in Corsham. Might be worth giving Dunsford Land Rover, on the A4 between Corsham and Bath, a shout.

Have a look at the tail end of my thread I’m running in my ES Premium to see how I’ve dealt with my EGR. It cost me 2 pence!

with regards to remaps, mine was already done when I got it but there were some slight issues with it. I got it remapped again by José from TD5 Inside and it has made a world of difference. He is not easy to get hold of but every so often he does a “U.K. tour” where he posts a series of dates/locations and you just turn up, write your name on a whiteboard and get your truck mapped. Cost of £200. If you then have further work done, better intercooler, better turbo etc then he will adjust the map to suit for free!

Would you mind linking me to the thread you are referring too. The 2 pence thing also please ?

Thank you for the info bud

You didnt mention what engine you have and i can only presume it's about a D2 Td5 and if it is and it has MSB ECU there are cheaper remap options verified by me which work well

Which remap is the one for MSB ECU for an auto D2? I remember you posted an eBay link at some point.

So I need more bits then , I was under the impression this that I have bought gets fitted to block the egr some way without removal , so I need to buy more bits then to carry this out ?

Well, yeah, it can be done that way, just put it in the joint at the exhaust manifold then that blocks any exhaust gas from entering the EGR. It basically takes the place of my 2p.

Ok I've been umming and arrring. I'm going to buy this egr delete kit and install myself. And get a stage 1 remap done by alivetuning. As they do a mobile service.
I love this car so I'm willing to part with the cash . :)
