Hi I am working on my Disco 2 which I intend to keep, but before I go onto the next job I have one concern. I bought the Disco TD5 with an EGR blanking kit fitted, I was wondering if it would still pass the MOT this year as it did last and obviously previous years?

Cheers.

New MOT rules have came into play. apparently they shouldn't pass...

Ive just had my MOT and they didn't pick up on it.
Mine isn't shiny and new so it probably didn't draw there eyes to it.

If you have an engine cover on then you can't see the egr valve anyway and they can't take covers off to check so you should be fine. :)

If it was fitted in factory then it should be fitted now.
depends on where you take the car for MOT, If they know your face they won't say anything.

If the MoT tester is hunting around to see if your EGR is blanked then you must have really upset him.

Remaps can delete egr without lifting a spanner, and in some cases like my L200 the EGR can be blanked with an electrical plug-in to the MAF which tells ten EGR to keep shut.

Then better check the MAP sensor to make sure that those who de-EGR'd it didnt miss to clean it, for the MAP to work well that hole pointed with red arrow must be completely clean cos there's the pressure sensing crystal
