Ordering up an Alisport blank kit for my p10 td5. Checked with them if exhaust manifold gasket included but they say they only use a bit of jointing compound. Is this best practise?
 
Loctite SI5990 High temp copper silicone, used on myne all good.

Well Alisport popped a gasket in for me and after fitting yesterday I can report back that its made a huge difference. Much smoother pick up and top speed is great and yes it even sounds sweeter! Although I am still getting the hunting. I am debating on whether to cut the hatch in the boot to access the pump or attempt to drop the tank. Ive just watched a decent video on cutting a hatch on a 90 but Ive heard on a 110 you have to cut/remove a strut which I am not keen on doing. Does anyone have experience on this please?
 
I did the Alisport blank off [i[e on my Y reg TD5 Def 90 and i also took out the centre silencer and added a straight thru section. I then had STORM do a remap on my ECU and the motor flew afterwards. I simply couldnt believe the difference and was well happy. The pipe was NOT loud and passed MOT tests. On the Alisport pipe i used the connection provided for the old corrugated EGR pipe and left it in place so a visual MOT check looks like its all still in place and working.
Do these things on your TD5 and be amazed like i was..... oh and mine had done 180,000 miles!
 
Thanks Den. I may have to prioritise a new roof rack over performance at the moment.....but exhaust on the list now!
