not sure anymore what i have.got a airflow meter.a wire going to injector no4.but have a throttle cable.edc is fly by wire??.or do i have a x edc? 97 300tdi auto.

Sounds like you have a modified vehicle. '97 TDi 300 auto was definitely an EDC car.

It is not at all unusual for peeps to change the EDC pump for a manual one.

Some pics of the injection pump should confirm it?

looks like a edc unit.has round block conector which goes to a black box on the side. looks same as ebay err6727
 
just had a look around on google would appear 3 types of pump. ve pumps have a throttle cable and edc.
 
I think on my EDC it's just the cruise control that is cable operated. Mine is an import so could be different though.
 
just thinking if non edc the air meter will be redundent so if i unplug it should run like crap or not at all?
 
ok its the second image its edc then.just got confused as it has a throtle cable.many thanks for the help.
 
its not a throttle cable it works the kick down for auto box its only a pivot for the cables on top of pump its not connected to the pump
