Hi all!

My EAS compressor has worn out, been like it since buying the car - suspension slowly taking longer and longer to go up - I didn't know any better (first RR and never been in one before).

Anyway, the inevitable happened last week and EAS Fault appeared on the dash and car rode on the bump stops. Ordered a compressor rebuild kit from ebay and will do all that before the weekend.

But will my EAS Fault be a hard fault, and need resetting with the special computer gubbins? Or will it be able to detect that the compressor is suddenly working and clear itself?

If the former, is there anyone with the relevent computer gubbins to reset my faults in or around the Barnsley/South Yorkshire area?

Gaz

First off it may not be the compressor, you may have a leak somewhere or it could be plenty of other things, all will require resetting via TestBook or similar, you need to get it hooked up to diagnose the problem first.

I know there may be other faults, but the compressor is definately broken and needs rebuilding - so I still need to know if anyone has the relevent computery stuff to reset the EAS faults (and read if there are others at the same time)?

I suppose a dealer will want a fortune for what seems to me a simple job?

I've found a local indy who will read the faults and reset the ECU for me, which is cool. I still haven't had time to replace the parts in the compressor, and I've lost my bleedin workshop info.

I see lots of info about the rebuild, but can't seem to find any info on where the compressor actually is - as I say, not had time to even look at the car, but I'd certainly appreciate it if someone can explain on here where precisely the compressor is and whether there's anything important to know about removing it?

Thanks all!

It's inside a black plastic box under the bonnet, mounted on the l.h. side -you will see the black plastic pipes coming out of it. Just disconnect the outlet pipe from it the ststem has a non return valve in it so you will not get all the air exhausting. Disconnect the multi plug to the motor and remove the 3 mounting nuts=DONT overtighten them on refitting. Rebuild info is here www.roverrenovations.com

so do you have to reset ecu after changing suspension pump???.....

Download the free software from www.rswsolutions.com where you will also find lots of useful info, buy a cable form ebay and re-set the EAS yourself. It will pay you as you could end up having to re-set more than once.
I hope the compressor ovehaul kit is not from the Dutch lot, it's not that good, lots of failures reported:eek:

Hi Datatec I followed link to rsw but can't find a free download for my l322 EAS problem. I have a eas kicker from black box solutions would that work?

Datatec is talking about a p38, for a l322 if the kicker is for a p38 then no, have a look at the BMW INPA software and leads that will do almost everything on an l322.

Inpa is a free download but you will need the right cable there is a company that do the cable and software for about £70
