No it’s all electrical tape and at some point somebody has taken power from the aircon for something else and added an extra fuse which I have to make sure is out or the battery drains in a few hours.

everything seems to be in order now. I still think the pump i is running a little too long and a little too often. How long and how often should the pump run for. I want to make sure I’m not looking for a fault that isn’t there

Up to 30% of the time but usually just to refill the tank at startup and after rising the height. It may pop on after the suspension has adjusted itself once in a while. If you have a Nanocom you can record a trace of what all the EAS is doing. Not sure about the EAS unlock software.

It’s going a lot more than that. Back to the drawing board. I had a similar problem with my abs pump running almost all the time and it turned out a bad earth was causing it to draw power through the earth lead. Think ill check that next. Apart from bad earth connections is there any other reason for power to come from earth all of a sudden. Seems like too much of a coincidence that both abs pump and eas pum both fail within a week of each other and both only lasted 6 months

Most electrics on the P38 are live fed and switched by grounding the circuit.

There are 2 earth points on the inner wing partly under the EAS box that sometimes give trouble.
The only reason to pump will come on is loss of air pressure.

I agree the only reason it should come on is loss of presssure. But I have no signs of any leaks that was the first thing I checked for cars been off the road for three weeks now. What causes the abs pump to come on? Mine was running all the time as it was getting 7v through the earth lead

It cannot get 7 volts through the earth lead, that voltage was due to a high resistance earth connection, the pump running continuously is either the black relay failed in the fuse box, quite common, failure of the pressure switch, or a burnt fuse box, also quite common. The pump may have been running at reduced speed due to the bad earth and thus never reaching full pressure to cut off.

Is there a fix to a burnt fuse box and are there any tests / other symptoms. I feel like I’m just p/ss/ng in the wind at the moment

Lid off fuse box and check for signs & smells of burning. If necessary remove the assembly and take the circuit boards out of the box. Do not mistake the natural smell of the poor quality circuit boards for burning.

After a lot of cleaning up pipes and swapping parts around I think I i may be there. I have fitted a light which comes on with the pump and seems to running a lot less. Should the pump stop when I have my foot on the break?

The ABS pump only comes on when the pressure in the system drops, it should come on every 4th or 5th use of the brake peddle and stop when full pressure is restored regardless of whether your foot is still on the brake.
