Hi, has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with brake discs and mintex brake pads bought on Ebay. I need to replace them all on my 1999 4.6 and am tempted to try this route as the price seems so good. I would assume that the Mintex pads are ok, but are they as they are only £13.99 wondered if the discs would warp as returning them would not be an option. Thanks in advance.

I bought 4 replacement discs for my RRC 200tdi, but without pads, bought them locally (only cheapies) the discs were (and still are) excellent, perfect fit, as the originals (except for cost!!) I got mine from fleaBay from island 4x4 IIRC, would recommend anytime.

Mintex pads are fine i only use mintex or ferodo as i have had others fail through overheating, neither of these do.

i bought pads and discs on ebay (from Island 4x4 i think). i actually misread the advert and thought the pads and the discs were mintex. However, it was my mistake as the pads are mintex, the discs are britpart.
I've had no problems with the pads or discs. i think it was £103 for front and rear inc. postage. i'm very happy with them.

I too, bought new discs & pads from Island 4 x 4 from E-Bay well over a year ago, tow a large trailer all over the country, no probs whatever, dead cheap, go for it.!!

Many thanks guys, I can now buy and not worry. It was island 4x4 that i have been looking at, such a great price. Thanks again, what would we all do without this website!!!!!!!!!!!!

MM 4X4 did a great deal on discs around £12 each-fitted them over 2 years ago and they are brilliant. Have a look at their advert in the LR mags. they may still do them.
Fitted them to my 4.6 HSE and they are still as smooth as a baby's ass.

Hi, just wanted to post a note to let everyone know about island 4x4. I know a lot of you have already used these guys and have sent me positive replies about their discs and pads for my 1999 P38. I have since ordered another part from them and saved myself 40 quid. I found them on good old Ebay, so if anyone hasn't heard of them look them up on google you won't regret it.;)
