Sounds like the com port isn't set.
Do you get a warning when you start the program about the com port?
You need to set it as I mentioned in my previous post or you wilol just get gibberish back from the EAS.
Have you watched the tutorial video that I sent you the link for? It really is straightforward. Assuming the com port is set properly, it should sync in seconds. If it doesn't then something is wrong.
Does your cable go into the USB port?
If so, you need to go to device manager, look at ports and see what port number Windows has assigned to the USB-Serial adaptor.
Actually, if it is the USB one, have you installed the driver for the serial to USB adaptor? If you haven't then it won't work.
