Mine's also a 2001 model so hopefully they shouldn't be a pain to get off.

2001 so should have plastic end caps, rears may still be stuck in place and the pins can be difficult to remove due to rust. A bit of brute force soon gets them free.

Make sure you get a set of new clips and pins for the new ones
