ive a p 38 1996 diesel auto.
lately the eas pump has been running a lot, every 10 seconds when stood idling ,doors, tailgte etc all closed. I know as the bushes on the eas are worn and ii can hear it rattling.
Two days ago she sat on her stops ant the 35 mph slow, christmas tree lights etc popped up.
I bought some 6 mm pipe fittings, made individual connections to my compressor and individually pressurised each air bag to 8 bar .left them for ten minutes and no pressure was lost. I installed an accurate pressure clock. also installed a tap to release the pressure. when pressurised I used soapy water and couldn't see any bubbles. also checked pressurised the tank as well it held for the ten minutes.
Stripped the compressor and fitted a new seal and liner .
I used the sunlock suite and unlocked the eas fault.
She lifts no problem and then settles, holds seem to drop slightly then the compressor cuts in.the compressor runs, waits for 10 seconds then off it goes running again.
Over night she doesn't seem to drop at all, same measurement wheel to arch night and morning. in the morning when started she rises slightly and then the compressor cycling starts over again.
im wondering if its the pressure switch? could I fit my gauge into the system and check the cut out cut in pressure?

any guidance,advice appreciated
thanks

Either the pressure switch is duff or you have a storage leak. More than likely NRV1.

many thanks, reading other posts on here does that mean I need to do an eas valve block, seal oring rebuild?
thanks again for the reply:)

+1 definitely do the valve block seals, otherwise the leaky block will knacker your new pump seals fairly quickly.

And put your pressure gauge in the tank feed to check for storage leaks.

Bushes on the EAS:confused:
Is the bonnet open when you get this repeated cycling?

my bonnet switch has been bypassed by someone before I had the motor.
I changed the o rings, diaphram today. To late to check it tonight so will report back tomorrow.

cured
looks like the eas valve block o ring overhaul did the trick.
my bouncy little lady is back to normal, rises up settles and whey hey the compressor shuts off and stays off
will have to look for somewhere else now to fry my eggs,
thanks to all who helped out
