Good Afternoon Guys,
My 2.5DSE had a puncture on the n.s.f tyre. The spare was also a no go. So the car remained stationary for a week, during which time the uspension went down to the stops. I had a new wheel tyre put on, but upon starting, all EAS dash lights came on & obviously, the suspension did not rise. I took it bumpily to my nearest RR Bandit, he plugged in the diagnostic but it read No Faults. He charged me £41.00 and said he has no idea what it could be, 'Maybe a leak, a pump'? He wants unlimited funds B4 investigating further (I do not have said funds) He also runs a policy, whereas, if they do work, you pay the bill in full (Regardless of how ludicrous) Before you can take your car back!!!
So, has anybody got any ideas what has caused this & how to fix it. The pump doesn't seem to try and inflate from start up!!!

If the system has gone into 'hard fault' mode then the compressor won't run until that is cleared. Do you have the "35mph" message up on the dash.

I think bandit is fairly accurate for your garage as, if his diagnostics system is any good, he could have forced the compressor to run whilst it was plugged in and you could have got a bit further.

You might want to admit where you live as there might be a more helpful member on here with the EAS diagnostics who might be glad of an excuse to escape the house over the holiday weekend and give you a hand. Otherwise PM DATATEK and buy the necessary from him and sort it yourself.

If the pump is running when you start the engine ,leave the door or tailgate open for 10 mins and this will give the pump time to fill the air tank, otherwise you are asking it to inflate all the bags and fill the tank at once, which it won't do.

Could be the garage is witholding the fault info to extract money from you.

You can read and clear the faults yourself with the RSW solutions software if you have a laptop.
The compressor will not run if there is a hard fault. If there is the "EAS fault 35mph max" message on the dash display then he should have recorded a fault and been able to attempt to clear it.

Hi,
The Garage said their diagnostic showed no faults, so it is not an electrical problem. I too delivery of EAS Software/cables today & ran it. It reads no faults also, but will not reset. I have the EAS 'Beep' and Comp. warning pon statr up, but no 35mph warning. The little orange EAS vehicle symbol is lit up. The dash lights flash a few times then all stay on after a few secs. Does this help?

Are you talking about the RSW EAS software? If so are you getting the green "Good Idle" button on? It sounds as though you may have a communication problem with the EAS ECU. When you plug in the eas cable and have the software running but not initialised, when you turn on the ignition you should get the slow 35mph message and beeps, then you should initialise the software and get the green "good idle".

Yes, I'm using the RSW Eas software. I get the beeb, EAS Fault, I then initialize, & wait for the solid 'Green Good Idle' before, pressing 'Read Faults' In the little squares '0' shows in each one and no faults are scripted below that. I press 'Reset' , Stop, unplug etc, start engine, but nothing happens??
How do I know if the compressor is running, as I can't hear it over the engine sound?

After you stop the software, you also have to turn off the igniton before you start the engine.
You can turn the compressor on/off with the EAS software in the functions tab:)

Ok, I am now eeing the 35mph Slow; warning.
So, I connected the software. Ran it. This time is showed 2 fault. FR Stuc Valve & RR Incorect signal. I cleared the faults pressed reset, it beebed, Disconected, re-started and only the top two lights on the Xmas Tree Swtch lit up, but, within a few seconds, the 35mph earning reappeared & no inflating of air bags! I redid the above & pressed Start Pump (In functions) = Nothing happened??? Any ideas please? I live in Mid Suffolk, 10 miles from Ipswich, 7 miles from Stowmaret!!

Go to the fusebox under the bonnet, remove the yellow relay for the Air Suspension pump, bridge the front and the rear terminals and see if the comp runs if not its prob a fuse or a motor/wiring fault, check feed to motor when terminals are bridged...should say in your manual what relayit is....

Or the relay is duff.

RR signal incorrect suggests a height sensor, stuck valve means that corner did not lift when it should have done, could be low air pressure.
Pump should start and stop on command if the software is running correctly, if it does not it could be the thermal trip if it has been overworking or it could be, as others have said, the relay.

Good Aftenoon Guys,
Well, the good news, I have full suspension back. I didn't get as far as checking/tripping the Relay.I ran the software, got RR Incorect signal, cleared that, --> Functions --> Pump on (Which it immediately started whirring away) --> Unlock EAS --> Restart Ignition (After disconecting leads) The 35mph warning did not appear, but even after waiting 10 mins, no inflation, So as I had to be somewhere, I drove off tentatively! Withingn 10 mins I was on low, then Motorway, then full height! After 1 hours diriving, parking, and returning home, I still havefull suspension!!
So, a very heartfelt THANK YOU for all your peristence & help. WTG Guys. You are all Stars. :D

Sounds like you have a weak compressor or a slightly leaky diaphragm valve.

Might be a good idea to check the connector to the RR height sensor for corrosion and think about replacing the sensor before it lets you down again.:)
