You really do need to put this on diagnostics. When you are forcing the compressor to run do you have the engine running? Because the compressor will not run through the EAS ECU unless the engine is running.

i have had a look. The pump works only when manually switching the relay with its cover off. The pump is filling up the supply tank. Something somewhere is not telling the relay to engage thus not powering the pump. perhaps the system needs a reset with an EAS kicker or diagnostics? or a switch or sensor needs looking at? Everything else is working as it should.

I have this problem too but without a fault message (most of the time).

If I do get a fault then I reset it through the EAS Unlock software and once reset I can switch the compressor off and on no problem from there too.

I can remove the relay and manually operate it with the engine running. But without a fault logged it will not run on its own. Checked the pressure switch - OK, checked the thermal cutout - OK. No loose wires. All operates perfectly from the EAS Unlock. Been driving me mad........
Once reset and manually pumped for 4-5 mins then the car lifts and runs fine, may not get another fault for a week.

It will run through the EAS Unlock software without the engine running. Just needs ignition to position III to get the comms running between ECU and laptop.

Happy to be told off here if I am wrong , but I am pretty sure I have done this before many times..........:D

Of course it will, but he does not have EASunlock. The point is, if he is trying to get the compressor to run by just turning on ignition, without the engine running, it won't.

The engine is on when I am engaging the relay. There is no fault messages. It seems that it needs to be reset with diagnostics. I am going to a local garage who know his land rovers in south gloucestershire. I got the car at a very good price so have leeway to spend money on it.

If there is not fault code, You have a one light on and one flashing, which would indicate the ECU is trying to inflate the bags. Yet the compressor won't run. But when forced by dropping the relay will, but the bags do not inflate. I would suggest that, (1) the thermo switch is duff. (2) That the diaphragm is leaking and no air is going in the tank. I asked you to follow my "How to" and report back. But if you will not listen i cannot help you.
