Fitted new O-ring kit not long ago (EAS) symlise red ones but I believe the NRV's already leak, they are worn and I wish I could find new "cones" without changing whole block,
anyway in the meantime will try the black nitrile O-rings without buying whole set but need help regarding Size, Anyone?

Hi

Look at my "How to" for cheapest complete O'ring set source.

Confused now, what have I done?

Fitted the red symlise set 2 month ago, NRV cones worn and wanted new and the black o-rings wammers suggest (not whole set), phoned symlise, surprice - surprice his sets doesn't include the o-rings for NRV's so what on earth was it I fitted then?

Nobody can tell me the size of the rings I'm after, may take your offer Kurt, symlise said the NRV cones could only be found used unless you bought a whole new block so bought some used ones, haven't received them yet, but new was my goal.

Size of the O-rings Anyone?
(Not wanting to buy more complete or incomplete sets, just the NRV o-rings)

Looking at his ebay ad the photo certainly shows NRV O'rings. Four off (they usually provide a spare). But there is another bloke on there selling them using exactly the same photo. Even with piston seal and compressor O'rings added it's exactly the same photo being used by two sellers. Not supplying NRV O'rings is stupid, they are the ones that get the most wear.

Had both symlise and autoshelley photos on screen to compare, think symlise are right about not supplying the NRV ones, and I may have fitted spare 4 mm ones.

Going to order the autoshelley full set now, cannot believe symlise set isn't complete but it seems like it.

Will change them all again, thought the red ones was a bit "flimsy" anyway (too soft)

In the Symlise photo there are two 4 mm O'rings and four smaller NRV O'rings unless i am going blind.

Try as i did and compare them in two windows on screen and you will see something are missing and it's the NRV o-rings, silly

No in the Symlise photo top row L to R large rings, 4 off 8 mm rings, Large rings.
Middle row 10 off 6 mm rings, 2 off 4 mm rings, 4 off NRV rings. Extra 6 and 8 mm rings in Autoshelley photo are for air bags and drier.

RANGE ROVER P38 EAS AIR SUSPENSION VALVE BLOCK O RING KIT WITH DIAPHRAGM | eBay

Something isn't quite right, symlise told me on the phone that none of his sets includes the O-rings for NRV's as they rarely needed changed.
I will probably get the shelley set early next week and take the block apart again to see what's what.

He is talking bollocks they are the ONLY O'rings that have any chance of wearing, because they are on and off their seats all the time with air being forced past them. All the others are sealed by air pressure and never move. The only thing they suffer from is hardening over time leading to small weeps.

My thought too, couldn't believe what he said and I asked 2 or 3 times until he got upset answering same question, as I said confused now and will get to the bottom of it myself now.

After what Simon said he was rebuilding/renovating many blocks and should know whats what.

I told him I've replaced the NRV O-rings with one of his kits, he refused saying I must have bought it elsewhere as he never supplies the NRV o-rings.

Unbloodybelieveable, i can just look at my purchase history in ebay and it's from him, oddness is everywhere:confused:

Right then - plot thickens.

Received the 3 used NRV's from symlise fitted with BLACK O-rings as his RED set doesn't include said rings.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Success, changed the red NRV O-rings ones out for new black ones and have used the car for 3 days, first I thought it had broken down as the compressor only runs briefly on start up and I can go for short trip with stops without compressor runs, never experienced that before. No need to say it doesn't drop over night:)

Even when mucking about in car including boot with engine stopped it doesn't need to self level when locked again:):)

My opinion about Red O-rings, have a guess:):):)

What I did:
Changed the red O-rings on NRV's

NB: It's for a reason that Wammers "How to" say they're sh.. but the supplier symlise says they aren't included in his sets, still a bit puzzled about that one as they one of the parts most subject to wear and wonder how many troubles this has/are causing?

Cone on NRVs wears, also hole it fits in wears oval. So if you fit soft red O'rings they deform and leak. Ok everywhere else but NOT on NRVs. Black Nitrile only for NRVs.
