left it on access today so easier to work on, removed plenum and trumpets and resealed them, went to start and got beep beep beep, "EAS fault" in message centre, all four lights on hight selector flashing at same time!
during the work i was doing i had upper tailgate open, i tried a few times but it was the same, i then closed the tailgate, shut drivers door and tried again, everyhing now ok!

would it have got confused as the tailgate was up for so long the light went out?

I think the tailgate being up stops the suspension reselecting any other height for a while, this is because if you had jacked the car to change the wheel you would not want the car to try to self level.
My hand book is not here at present but I will read up on it to confirm what I have said.

hello mate , yes having the tailgate or a door open will disable the eas , once closed it should resume to normal operation as your did .

i know that doors or tailgate open disable EAS but it shouldn't cause EAS fault message, EAS not working and christmas tree to iluminate surely?

Mine will have two or so lights flashing if it was in the middle of raising or lowering when disabled, These will continue to flash for a short while when re-enabled. I have not seen an error message though. Sorry

as i said its all ok now, just a glitch and i think it is due to a def hight sensor, o/s/f i recon, il swap them side to side and re-calibrate the suspension, see what happens!

Hi fellas,

You seem to know a lot about the RR EAS system, I've had mine impounded to have the EAS fixed as I had the Christmas tree experience and it sank to the floor. How do you recalibrate the EAS? Go easy on me, I have hooves when it comes to spanners and all things tool like!

Look for the threads by Rishi he is a wizard when it comes to that side of the EAS.
You will need to download a simple programme, put in on your laptop and connect a lead. This lead can be made or you can buy one ready made.

The programme will read and reset errors onthe EAS etc.
Any problems come back and I will find you the links.

Hope this helps
Fred

the calibration software is available to download for free, i have it on me lap top and i have the relavent OBDII and serial converter to plug laptop into R/R! i got them talking to each other the other day, so i can now unlock or calibrate the EAS. (apparently LOL)
im not sure if i can reset it after fitting new parts, or swapping height sensors, if the signals are out of limits so to speak? spose time will tell!
