I just fixed a transfer box and here we come ... eas fault, dont drive faster 35 mph, the car is on its ars.:(

I have been loking on here and internet, and I think it might be the pump. In last couple of weeks sometimes it took agies to switch from the lowest mode to normal mode (it was flashing for agies, trying to swotch to higher mode) :eek:

So do you think it is the pump? Do i need to disconect the bettery when changing it? is there a guide on how to change the pump?

Maybee the pump or maybee the little blue pipe under the pump or maybee a leak. Sounds like a session with some soapy water will answer your questions. You may just need a new piston seal in the pump, these are much cheaper than a whole unit.
 
pump seems to not working at all! how can i check if any power is going to it?

I pumped it up manualy (i got air suspension emergency manual inflation valves) but the back keeps sinking down and the front stays up!? It is - temp outside so cant play with soapy water yet :(
 
I have changed the exhaust system not long ago, it should not be leaking. waht is it to do with EAS fault please?

Because any leaks at the rear of the main silencer where the pipe joins over the rear axle mean the plastic air pipes get fried with hot gases.
They often swell up and burst - hence your manual inflation not working.Have a good look at the rear springs if the pipes are OK.

Rear airbags leaking???
 
I've got a compressor and v/v block which is redundant since my spring kit. Should really ebay it. I had an intermittent problem with the rear offside deflating. I never fully diagnosed it because it was compounded with another issue, but I believe it was due to a sticky v/v in the block which prevented the bag from inflating, and eventually led to compressor overrun. At this point it would confuse the EAS, which would just fault out and sit down.

Should really flog the compressor (which is good) and the v/v block (which I couldn't guarantee).

Anyone want one?
 
High Wycombe, but could post. Make me an offer! Bear in miind I'll have to hack (sorry, carefully remove) the buggers and its brass monkeys.

same problems mine,turned out a front airbag was knackered got that changed,no more probs.:D
 
another question - compressor will not work if the car gos into bump mode/eas fault? How can I check if it works?
 
Sounds like the pump has gone, had this fault on a friends one and is was the pump. You cant just replace the pump and drive away you have to have the system reset to allow it to work again properly. If your from kent/SElondon way theres a mobile RR guy from Faversham that can reset it for u alot cheaper than anyone else can, i can pass his number on to you if you like. Pump removal is simple enough even for DIYer. I'll add RR manual instructions if a bit for ya to read
 
ELECTRONIC AIR SUSPENSION
AIR COMPRESSOR
Service repair no - 60.50.10
Remove
WARNING: The air suspension is
pressurised to 10 bar (150 lbf/in 2 ) . Dirt or
grease must not enter the system. Wear
hand, ear and eye safety standard protection
when servicing system.
1. Depressurise system.
2. Remove cover from air supply unit.
3. Release compressor multiplug from casing and
disconnect plug.
4. Remove 3 nuts and dished washers securing
compressor. Note orientation of dished washers.
5. Remove compressor outlet pipe, seal exposed
ends.
6. Remove compressor.
Refit
7. Remove seals from air hose and compressor.
Connect air hose to compressor and tighten
union nut to 7 Nm. (5 lbf.ft)
8. Fit compressor ensuring correct orientation of
dished washers. Tighten fixings to 2 Nm.
(1.5 lbf.ft)
NOTE: Ensure compressor is mounted
centrally on mountings. Failure to align
mountings may result in excessive noise
and premature mounting rubber wear.
9. Connect compressor multiplug, secure to casing.
10. Leak test connection.
11. Fit cover to air supply unit.

No need at all to depressurise the system,you just need to remove the EAS cover,unplug the wire,undo the 3 nuts,remove them and the washers,lift the compressor up and undo the pipe with a 12mm spanner.
Thats it,replacement is reversal of removal etc......
 
thanks for the instructions.

I have just did a Manual Activation of Air Compressor and I could here it working.

I pumped the air bags up manually last night and checked it in the morning. The front stayed up and the back was on its ars. Question: if on of the air bags is knackered at the back, will both rear bags will sink down?:confused:

I got under the car and took some pictures. The air lines go no where near the exhaust. I think all air bags/lines were changed a few years ago. One of the air bags that is next to the exhaust looks a bit rough. Will post pics soon

Looking at the pictures do you think it is the air bag that leaking? And if yes why does the whole back of the car goes down?

they look ok to me,my front airbags were down to the inner cord and still held air,that is until one of em went bang on the motorway.:mad:;);)
