OK guys this don't cover my dirty diesel bit just wondering on people's thoughts of the new E10 petrol coming and do you think it would affect the V8s engine much?

We are all gonna hate this new fangled E numbers in fuel.
It has been discussed before and it isn’t good:(

Americans have been running ethanol rich fuel for years, no idea what the palaver about old cars is all about.

If you have a 40yr old car with the original fuel lines then you're asking for trouble even with the normal stuff..

Nowt to worry about.

The Media is a full of horror stories regarding the stuff, the majority is bullshít to be honest

There were a few problems when it was first introduced. Mainly with fuel lines, and old motorbikes with panel tanks soldered together.
Both easily dealt with, and the formulation is more stable.
As you say, a decade old story that has been recycled on the internet ad infinitum.

Yep quite an oddity being how long the stuff has been around the 87 octane stuff the Yanks use is quite rich in the ethanol stuff. :D

A chap writes an automotive column on Autoexpress was banging on how bad E10 would be in one breath and the next week they were writing how it might actually be beneficial, being that bad news sells better i'm surprised they turned their story around... :D

To be fair however i've since checked and all their columns contradict each other

Hummm i have a 55 year old car with the original fuel line front to back:rolleyes:

Can beat that just 61 yr old s2 original steel fuel lines, I know not rubber/plastic but still sounds good.
We will have to see what evolves with my 1976 Capri’s fuel system, its steel other than the short flexible bits each end :)
