That's good to know, I just want a little more power inbetween gear changes wanting less revs. I'm having the EGR valve turned off and speed limiter taken off.

Has your MPG improved or worsened?
 
No point having the limiter removed, going that fast in a 110 is the face of fear itself!

Depends. If i drive normally and sensible then yes better MPG however if not then no its worse haha.

Averages 22mpg to 35mpg depending.

To be honest it was recommended by Mike to have it removed as part of the remap. I only drive up to 70mph and only on motorways. The XS does feel very stable at that speed too. I drive very sensibly so I may hit the 30mpg if I'm lucky then!
 
Well reading all the previous posts from members that Dynochip has done work on, it looks like the right thing to do, to get a little more torque and less revs/gear changes. Price has gone up to £250 instead of £225 though :)

Are your LR's driving ok after months years of having it done? I take it no fuel additives are needed after mapping?
 
The only way to increase power and torque on a diesel engine is to increase fuelling. You may because of the more linear map get a very small increase in MPG on a long steady speed run. Use the extra power and torque around town stop/start and you WILL use more fuel. Anyone who thinks increasing power and torque increases MPG lives in a dream world.
 
Yeah, youre not wrong though I did notice a deffinate increase in MPG after the map, when driving sensibly and not booting it...

When I first got my 90 it averaged 22 - 25mpg around town, after the map (and various other mods which would have contributed) it was averaging 25 - 27mpg.

Often 30mpg+ cruising on the mway

Yes a slight advantage if driven normally. But having it done and taking part in the traffic light grand prix is not a good idea. It will drink fuel.
 
Wammers isn't that with any vehicle mapped or not? Always around town you are going to use more fuel than on a long run.

What attracts me to having a re map is gaining more torque so I can have less gear usage. Using more revs burns more fuel if driven sensible.

The thing is, with an underpowered (compared to cars) aerodynamic brick it's always very tempting to boot it.

Using the extra available power sensibly to avoid dropping a gear and thrashing it will give better returns but realistically, in heavy traffic are you going to use the extra acceleration? Driven carefully you're unlikely to see much change in consumption either way

Gaining torque and BHP needs more fuel. Simple as that. The something for nothing machine has not yet been invented. It depends how the car is driven and the area in which it is being driven.
 
It's very flat here, but Once a year I like to travel throughout U.K. Wales, Ireland. Currently it was Wales and those hills tested my 110! Reason for the remap.

Anyone heard of turbo failures since having a remap?
 
I'm not allowed one. My insurance company won't allow it...

I had a tuning box which I didnt know about when I bought it, but I've now removed it.

Shame really as I think it would really wake it up
