Can anyone tell me what they are for? In my 1996 DSE the last injector (nearest to the firewall) has its out-going pipe plugged. Does that matter?

Also, I have a severe leak from the fuel injection pump. Anything can be done other than getting a new pump?

thanks.

the offspill is plugged because that is the end of the line, there is no more injectors to spill off from, have you try'd tightning the nuts at the injectection pump,it could be just as simple as that.

If the leak is coming from the top/lid of the pump you can replace the gasket without too much hassle, the gasket itself should be around £2 or so. The lid has three torx bolts and one security bolt, the security bolt can be removed with a 7mm socket hammered onto it.

You should be able to buy the gasket from any diesel/bosch/vag dealer using this part# 2 461 015 008-000

Thanks guys for the sage advice. Unfortunately the leak is from the bottom, from the rear block of the pump, the one to which the pipes to the injectors are connected to. I assume it would take more than a gasket for this one...any chance of obtaining a pump from salvage?
